Hi, I’m Mackenzie!
I am a board-certified Music Therapist and the founder of Notes of Connection. I‘ve been practicing since 2023, working primarily with kids on the CLTS waiver. I also have experience working on the IEP, in preschool classes, private clinics and grant funded school groups. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Louisville, and I am currently continuing my education by pursuing a Master of Science in Educational Psychology- Learning Analytics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Music and math have always been two of my biggest passions. I’ve loved both for as long as I can remember and I’ve always been fascinated by the ways they connect. Whether it’s the rhythm of a melody or the pattern in a data set, both can make powerful changes in the minds of our students.
Notes of Connection is my way of blending these two worlds. It’s about using music to affect the brain in ways that support growth while using data to uncover trends to make learning more equitable. Most of all, it’s about building connections between a child and their family, their teachers, their peers, and their own learning journey.
