Hi, I’m Mackenzie!
I am a board-certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), licensed Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT), and the founder of Notes of Connection. I‘ve been practicing since 2023, working primarily with children aged birth to 18 who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Other experience includes preschool classes, nursing homes, and grant-funded school groups. I earned my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Louisville with a minor in psychology. I am currently continuing my education by pursuing a Master of Science in Educational Psychology- Learning Analytics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, set to graduate in May 2026.
Music and math have always been two of my biggest passions, and I’ve always been fascinated by the ways they connect. Data analysis can be used to uncover and identify needs. Music can be implemented intentionally in a clinical intervention to meet those needs. Then again, data can be collected and analyzed to track the progress of music-based interventions. Whether it’s the rhythm of a melody or the pattern in a data set, both can make powerful changes in the minds of the people we serve.
Notes of Connection offers a unique approach that integrates data analysis with evidence-based music interventions to support an individual’s growth. Our work allows organizations to implement intentional supports while continuously assessing impact and progress to identify what is working and how.
